I remember 6 years ago in Japan, I was introduced to these small red bean bag packets that would heat up once you took it out of the packaging. Bad thing about them was they only lasted maybe an hour and could barely keep your hands warm long enough in the blistering cold.

So recently I found out about Sanyo’s Eneloop Kairo, which is the same concept but based on a rechargable lithium ion charge that can last up to 4 hours.

There are 2 warmer settings, but more than likely you’ll have it on full blast.

The bottom is actually the part that heats up. It has come in handy being here in cold Shanghai, and I probably need another one for the other hand. Got this for 300 RMB (~$44 USD) and it also comes in a light blue or white color. Perhaps a pair of gloves is the more economical route here…

Had to pass through Kowloon Station when I saw this Mercedes-Benz SLK200 on display drenched with Swarovski crystals.

This bad boy is priced over $1 million HKD (~$130K USD) and is the only one of its kind.

Apparently, this was made in celebration of China’s 60th Anniversary, and whether or not it is up for sale is unknown to me.

Would you splurge on this knowing you had the cash?

To celebrate China’s loyal customers, Ferrari has teamed up with contemporary Chinese artist Lu Hao to create a dozen Ferrari 599 GTB Fioranos. What makes this such a rare edition are the different Chinese elements infused with the luxury vehicle.

The start ignition is carved from jade with ‘Engine Start’ inscribed in ancient Xiao Zhuan, while the rev counter is written with Chinese numerals. You will also find an engraved plaque unique to each car and a luggage set with an embroidered route of the Silk Road. On top of this, a one-off edition styled in a cracked porcelain paint job will be auctioned off at a charity gala on November 3 in Beijing.

Honda recently announced its U3-X prototype which is a self-balancing transporter similar to the Segway. The U3-X weighs only 22 lbs, travels up to 4 miles an hour, and maneuvers simply based on a persons weight shift. This robotic unicycle runs for about an hour on a lithium ion battery and can pave the way for indoor transportation especially for the elderly and disabled. Honda currently has no plans of selling the U3-X.

I’m not a big gamer but I am a fan of design, so when I saw this unofficial mock up for the PS4 I was intrigued. This slick new system would be revamped with touch screen glass panels, wireless capablities, and console color selections. Clean, elegant, but practical? Who knows. Nice concept, nonetheless.
