China 60th Anniversary

I remember writing about National Day like it was yesterday, but with a blink of an eye China is already a year older. Turning the big six zero, China displays how far they’ve come through a showcase of performing arts, military strength, technological advancement, and unity as a whole. Honestly, I felt the Beijing Olympics said it all, but consider the events of yesterday as an encore and reason as to why China is to watch out for in these next coming years.

Hong Kong Typhoon Time Lapse Video

Feels like typhoons are coming in and out of Hong Kong every other day now. It is the heart of the typhoon season, so there’s barely much you can do but stay the hell indoors when severity is high. Found a time lapse clip capturing typhoon Nangka rolling through a few months back. If you’re impatient like me, I suggest scrolling the playhead unless you want to sit through the whole 5.5 minutes.

Linkin Park At Venetian Macau

Only two words could desribe this concert. Fucking amazing. I’ve been a fan of Linkin Park since my high school days and it was great to finally have the opportunity to watch them live.

Hardcore fans lined up early for the standing area in the front.

Entering the Cotai Arena, banners display upcoming events. Looks like Lady Gaga performed the previous night here.

People lining up to purchase Linkin Park t-shirts for $240 a pop.

The opening act started promptly around 7:15pm. It was a local Macau band who didn’t sound half bad.

Then around 8:00pm the real show started.

We sat in the middle section of the arena, but that didn’t stop us from having a good time.

I didn’t sit the entire concert and neither did the people around me. I found it surprising how passive the standing crowd was though.

This concert over exceeded my expectations, and now I have much more respect for this group’s wide range of talent. Short video clips are below. Sorry if a few of them are jerky, it’s hard to stay still at a concert.

Sweat Pool Party ’09: Shanghai

My people in Shanghai are doing it real big. Temperatures are up in the blazing high 30′s which calls for only one thing. POOL PARTY!
