iPad2 Launch Hong Kong

A friend had asked me to help her buy an iPad2 as it wasn’t officially released yet in Shanghai. I figured no problem since there had already been an influx of iPad2 stock coming from overseas, all the hardcore Apple fans would have an iPad2 in their hands by now but of course paid at premium price. With Apple placing a quantity limit on all orders, my thought was to order off the Apple online store the day it comes out and that would be the end of it.

Launching day was another story…

All iPad2 models, white/black 3G/3G+WiFi, online were sold out in the morning with a limit of 5 per order. 5 is a little much don’t you think? Then I went downstairs and hit the streets of Mongkok only to find lines like the picture above and store associates holding up “All Sold Out” signs. Up until now no one has a clue when more are coming in.

Sorry friend… though rumor has it that iPhone5 is coming next month, maybe you’d rather buy that instead.
