Bo Duo Xin Ji Restaurant
Had dinner at this delicious restaurant near the intersection of Xiangyang road and Fuxing road. Walking here at night wasn’t a pleasant first experience because it’s located in the middle of a pitch black alley, and you always hear China horror stories of being robbed or knifed for your organs and all. Well I do at least. Recalling these stories I found myself placed in the perfect scenario and I wanted out. My solution to feel at ease in a situation like this was to blend in. So how do you do that? Play the stereotypes.
In this case start loogie hacking, pop a cigarette in your mouth, squat from time to time, and talk loud in mandarin (this would actually work against me with my garbage speaking skills). Making due with what I could pull off, I made it to the restaurant safely.
Anyhow, food here was great and the restaurant has gotten quite popular within recent years so don’t let my initial uneasiness scare you.

Haha…”squat from time to time.” Three months later, I get your Thanksgiving e-mail. Just joking!
