Tokyo! The Movie

Tokyo! is based on three different surreal yet compelling stories set in Tokyo with each respectfully directed by Michel Gondry, Léos Carax, and Bong Joon-ho.

The first story, “Interior Design”, follows an aspiring movie director arriving in Tokyo with his girlfriend, only to find out her bones are turning into wood.

The second, “Merde”, talks about a flower eating creature emerging from Tokyo sewers and “terrorizing” the public.

The final installment, “Shaking Tokyo”, looks into the the life of a hikikomori man who falls in love with a pizza delivery girl.

Tokyo! has been slowly releasing in select regions, and although it supposedly released in Hong Kong back in December ’08, I have yet to see ads or showings in movie theaters. Looks like an intriguing watch, but will probably need to find the pirated version.
