Ginza ’08

I thought I better post these before 2010 starts creeping around the corner. Ginza was my last stop before coming to Hong Kong. You can find the other districts I visited here: Shibuya, Harajuku, Shinjuku.

What Ginza is most notable for is its shopping. Sure, you can say that about almost any district in Tokyo, but we’re talking every luxury brand you can name. The Sony building is a stop I decided to revisit from my first time in Japan. If you’re a Sony fan be sure to come here and enjoy 4 floors of products.

Took this because it reminded me of my hometown St.Louis Cardinals. Go red birds!

When you’re a tourist you take note to anything that catches your eye. I have not a clue as to what this building is for.

I didn’t know the “H” was silent in Hermes. The doorman stood there expressionless. A true soldier.

There’s just one too many levels in the Gucci store.

Dior looks nice but even better at night. Sorry, no picture to back that claim.

Love Casio G-Shock watches.

With all the shopping on everyone’s mind, there probably isn’t much room to take in how architecturally stimulating this area is.

I took this one for my cousin who was a big Indiana Jones and Lego fan as a kid. You know who you are.

A friend who worked at the Apple Store in Ginza was nice enough to take us to dinner.

Getting things started right.

It’s no iPhone, but I was still fascinated with his cell phone that could play TV and probably give you a back massage at the same time.

Cold soba noodles with dipping sauce.

Can’t remember this dish name, but ill call it chicken and eggs smothered on rice.

Leaving the restaurant with a tab well over $100USD, we decided to head to a local bar my friend was familiar with.

But on the way, took a few night shots.

The bar was a nice relaxed setting from the hustle and bustle.

The owner studied in Australia, so her English was superb. After nice chat, a few drinks, and a bottle of champagne it was time to call it a night.

A great way to end the ’08 Japan experience. Will be planning a trip back soon enough.
