Shanghai Day 2: Sights x Food
The next morning we were free for a couple of hours to walk around and find somewhere to eat. Nanjing Road is one of the world’s busiest shopping streets, so food shouldn’t have been a problem.
And it wasn’t, but my cousin and I wanted authentic Chinese food which was difficult to seek not being familiar with the area. You just don’t come to Shanghai and settle for McDonald’s.
We searched right. Nothing.
Looked left. Nothing.
Went down a small side street and saw this little joint called “Come”. Sounds satisfying, but we kept moving.
Didn’t want to wander too far down unknown territory, so we headed back towards Nanjing Rd.
The whole city is wired with these black electrical lines which are connected to buses. All the buses appeared to run on fuel, so it’s a weird concept if you ask me.
The Japanese department store, Shanghai branch, Isetan.
Looking at all the happy shoppers.
We finally came across a place that had a decent menu.
The potstickers were excellent!
Upon finishing our meal, we had to meet up with Sola, Yone, and the crew to head over to M1NT.
Just a few buildings we passed along our walk.
Following the M1NT afternoon tour, I went back to the hotel to nap a bit & shower for the party.
Crossing over to the Howard Johnson.
Our meal after M1NT. I hate when alcohol creeps up on you, especially at a time when all this good food is in front of you.
There was no way we were finishing that fish bowl, and we didn’t. Such a shame because I swear I would have made a dent in it if my stomach allowed. I got my eyes set on it for next time!
