Shilin Night Market Taipei
There was no way I was leaving my taste buds hanging with just bubble tea and beef noodle. My quest continued at the Shilin Night Market to discover the best food Taiwan has to offer.
This night market is the most famous by far in Taipei. I’ve seen Taiwanese dramas which have filmed scenes here.
Inside the market, vendors hoot and holler to get your business. I don’t remember the people traffic being this congested as the image depicts.
Walked past a huge bitter melon. The market offers a variety of drinks to quench your thirst.
Food is made fresh right in front of you.
Don’t be intimidated by the sausages. They dice them up before serving.
Sat down for a delicious oyster omelet. Then it was off again to try more food.
Can’t say what they’re making here, but must be good given all that trash!
Stood in line for the popular fried chicken steak.
When you buy one it comes in this size, so you better have an appetite.
I love eating squid but have never tried it along with the black ink.
Potato chips on a stick with your choice of seasoning.
Dry squid. One of my favorite snacks growing up.
Choose the cutest puppy to feast on. They’ll skin it and cook it to your liking.
Only joking. Don’t understand why pictures weren’t allowed, but I managed to sneak in a few.
Outside the food market are a bunch of games to play.
If you got the accuracy, try and hit the numbers in sequential order, and win you or your date a prize.
Hard to see here, but little snoopy figures are placed up for you to shoot down with bb pistols.
Throw bean bags at the cans.
The night market also has shopping comparable to the Ladies Market in Hong Kong.
However, there are more products available at this market which puts the Ladies market to shame. To experience everything Taiwan, the Shilin night market is a one stop spot especially if time is not on your side.
