Room 18 And Club Primo

All I have to say about these two Taipei clubs is that they know hip-hop. Good hip-hop attracts the crowds and creates the atmosphere for a fun time.

The line outside Room 18 was stretched around the corner of building when we arrived. Somehow we talked our way in and got ourselves situated in a VIP booth. Above is a stand up view from the booth.

This was as close to the dance floor as I was willing to get. I couldn’t be in one spot without getting shoved or stepped on. VIP has its advantages here.

A girl we knew worked for the club and was putting her hair up getting ready to dance on the bar.

I think the flash takes away from the effect of the clubs. My attempt to not use the flash resulted in bad quality.

Females who were working it on the dance floor decided to get on the bar and shake their money maker.  After a few hours of sipping, dancing, and chatting up a few locals it was time to head back to the hotel.  The final tab was around $11,000 NT for two bottles of Goose.

The following night, after the charity event, we headed to Club Primo.

Upon arriving at Primo, they sent us right back out the door for not wearing buttoned shirts. Didn’t know why nice t-shirts didn’t cut it because I noticed a bunch after changing and getting in. Primo has an upscale feel and what appeared to be an older crowd. Again, there wasn’t much room to maneuver, and all VIP booths were taken that night.

If you were to ask me which club I prefer of the two, I would say I enjoyed myself a little more at Room 18. But given my short time in Taiwan, I don’t feel the right to pass judgment. A local I met said she preferred Primo over Room 18, so my recommendation is to try both. Another club we were going to hit up, but ended up not, was Club Luxy. I saw posters for New Years at Luxy with Three 6 Mafia. Sounds like a tempting trip. Links to the clubs below.
