Shibuya is home to one of the most famous shopping districts in Japan. Here you’ll run into known landmarks such as Shibuya Crossing and Shibuya 109, note the fashionable youngsters, and possibly spot an occasional storm trooper if lucky.

There was a lot of advertising done for singer Namie Amuro’s new album ‘Best Ficton’ during my stay in Japan. Buses blazed her music down the streets and posters were plastered in every corner. I might as well put in a good word for her too. Official site.

I think there was a protest going on across the street but not certain.

Neat structure leading into a building.

Shibuya 109 from afar. It holds 8 floors and 2 bottom floors of small trendy clothing boutiques fitted for but not limited to teens. I took a step inside but quickly turned around after seeing the crowd.

Instead I went for some desert.

I didn’t get to stay in Shibuya long enough to explore other areas. But here is a short clip I took at the Shibuya crossing to give an idea of how crowded it can actually get.
