Sensational Deserts At Mango Tango
“You need to try this!” my cousin told me. I looked down at the plate and saw what appeared to be rice and cut up pieces of mango. Rice and mango? I didn’t see how they complimented each other, but I gave it a try. I still remember tasting the sweet mango mixing in with the rice in my mouth. What I failed to notice about the rice at first was how it had coconut milk poured over it to produce a subtle sour taste. That was over 5 years ago since my first encounter with mango and sticky rice.
For 5 years, I was deprived of what has today become a favorite desert of mine. I say deprived because I don’t know of any places that sell it back in my hometown of Missouri.
Sure I could have found a recipe and tried making it myself, but I’m terrible in the kitchen.
I wonder if this is what’s used to collect mangoes from trees?…
Patience pays off. My first bite into the dish was everything I imagined it would taste like. I’m uneasy just writing and staring into this picture. If you’re not a mango fan I still urge you to try. I bet it will turn you into a believer.
Mango parfait with corn flakes. I would rate this up there along with the mango sticky rice.
I’d eat a mango a day regardless. There are a lot of places in Bangkok that sell mango and sticky rice. If you happen to be in Siam Square that is where you’ll find Mango Tango.
