Known to many as the “Vegas of Asia”, Macau is also known to me as Ho city. Stanley Ho that is. The real estate tycoon who owns and operates at least 17 of the casinos in the area plus much more. Guess it’s no surprise that I stayed in one of his casinos while I was there.

Chinese artifacts line the walls of the lobby.

A few shots of the room I stayed in. The Lisboa is one of the older hotels but is very well maintained.

Two beds weren’t enough to accommodate the three of us who stayed here, so the hotel offers a cot for a small charge.

What I liked most about the room was the unlimited internet, open mini bar, and free movies. But who spends that much time in the room anyway?

Saw this right outside the hotel but don’t know what it represents.

Adjacent to the Lisboa is the Grand Lisboa, Ho’s response to the Wynn that was built nearby. An overhead tunnel also connects the two Lisboa’s for easy access.

I’ll get a better night shot of the Grand Lisboa next time. I was in a moving taxi.

Across the street is the Wynn and MGM Grand. The Wynn has a water show in the front every few hours.

Down the street from the Wynn is the Galaxy Hotel.

Obviously, I only covered a small majority of the hotels & casinos here. I’ll cover the ones over on the Taipa island side of Macau soon. You can expect to find a casino in nearly any hotel you step foot in. In Chinese culture people gamble not to have fun but to test their luck. I’ve been fortunate enough to come out lucky although I go in just for fun.
