Harajuku ’08
I went to Harajuku on two separate occasions and snapped quite a few pictures. I’ll be spreading those accordingly to future posts. To get to Harajuku I hopped on the JR Yamanote Line and got off at Harajuku station. It’s only two stops from Shinjuku station, so I was told I could have walked but refused to in the scorching heat.
On the way there…
Harajuku Station
One of the main reasons I visited Harajuku was to catch the teen fashion and street performers. This is where they would have gathered if I came on the right day, which is Sunday.
So, I came back on Sunday and was lucky to catch these ladies gearing up.
Don’t be shy about posing with them because they enjoy the attention. Here’s someone posing.
The other side had a few stands selling modeling photos. There were no street performers in sight.
Harajuku is well known for two main shopping streets, Takeshita & Omotesando. This is me pausing and taking a deep breath before entering Takeshita Street.
At the Meiji & Omotesando Street intersection heading towards more shopping. A map highlighting the street locations.
After all that walking, it’s time to sit down and replenish my energy.
